Take out the three screws that hold the Main control board( on the lefthand side). Unhook the control board connectors from the main control board. Remove the control panel. Take off the 2 bottom screws inside the door, take off the 4 screws that hold the front cover plate. Take off front the front cover. Take off the 5 screws that hols the drum plate. Remove it. DRYER NOT HEATING. Heat Element test good. No visible breaks. Tested the Thermal fuse it was bad so we replaced it. The dryer worked about 5 minutes. So we tested everything again and the Thermal Fuse and...

Somehow you are not getting enough air through the dryer to maintain a temperature below the thermal high temp cutout temp. or there is a control problem for the heating element so it may stay on the 5 minutes but like an oven the thermostat turns the element on and off. I hope you understand. There may be a relay that turns the element on and off, but the contacts have "frozen" or welded themselves together. If so that's your problem. Or there is another device with a similar problem. Unplug, trace the 220vac wires to controls and the heating element. Double check wiring. the Safety devices may be 110vac rated and 220vac is going through so won't hold the power flow. Hope this helps.

My Samsung DV5451AEW/XAA will not dry cloths. The vent tube is not plugged and air flow is great through the whole vent system. How do I get to the heating element?

  • I am assuming this is electric. Yes?
  • Do you get any heat when there is no clothes in it?
  • Have you checked your voltage at the receptacle? If not 220V, if you have the old tube fuses, then one may be blown. If you are getting good heat with no clothes then replace your high limit thermostat. Lots to check before heading for the heating element. As for heating element they are usually either in the back of the tub or a tube on the right hand side of the dryer. You need to take the front panel off.

Samsung dryer DV209AEW/XAA, How does the belt go on the pulley system in the back of the dryer? Can't seem to get it tight.

I never fixed a thing in my life and thanks to Macmarkus, who was right on the mark with what was wrong with my dryer, I was able to make the repair without uttering one cuss word. I didn't have to spend a dime either. Thanks so much. Rich

Hi lisavawter...
Your best bet is to buy a service manual, so it will tell you everything you need to know about servicing your dryer...
