My 32inch LCD tv screen goes black and no video shows while the sound evrythingf else works. what could be wrong? am i looking at a large cost to repair? cheers Aa

a couple of things. on the computer lower the res to 16 bit. 800 x 600. 60 hz. on the tv look for input and change it. or look for video on the remote control. also look in the owners manual if you have it. also since you have a blank screen try moving the mouse off the screen and to the right and to the left. you may have it set to extended instead of copy.

Looks like you might have issues with your screen it self the lights and all internal issues. You might have to take into a repair shop to get it done, a fuse might have been blown up. If you have warranty try to take it in and get it fixed.

The LCD is damaged and there is no other option but to replace the LCD screen.
If there is no picture at all it is fully damaged but if a portion of the screen shows a picture then the part of the LCD is damaged.
Please check the cost of replacement before you go for changing as it must be worth the cost.

It has 2 blown capacitors in it. Mine had the same problem. The capacitors are located at EC17 & EC18 on the top circuit board inside the tv. They cost about 1.00 a piece. You can get them at DigiKey.com. It is very easy to take the board out and have someone soldier the new ones in and then put it back together. You can fix it for about 40.00. Hope this helps. Do a search on line of what the capacitors look like........

and I Fear the costlies part of LCD TV's is the Screen.

Yes, the screen is the most expensive part of your entire TV. The cost of repair + transportation will likely equal to or exceed the cost of a new TV.
I would suggest you to try fixing the screen in the near service centre.

If you can open than open your LCD tv & checked Inverter Borad it have White & red color connector may be this board is defective.

Don't know what brand it is but, it really doesn't matter the screen or lcd panel cost as much or more than a new set. Sorry.

this is the problem related to display of ur TV screen...please contact the service centre...plz dont try to repair it urself..

The cost to repair it might not be a worry, parts for those types of sets are not available, the plasma style sets are replaced by LCD/LED.

your lcd panel is bad most of the time that is the most expensive part on the tv. cost on a 32inch lcd panel is 650.00 not including labor . this lg panel is not aviable now.sorry.
