My suggestion is uninstall both the driver and the software, download the latest driver and software from sony syupport and reinstall them. restart after uninstall and again after install. if this still does not solve the problem try using a different software like cyberlink youcam for the cam. if none of this woks the unplug the cam from rhe motherboard start it shut down and replug the cam.... unfortunately this is as far as you can go with problem solving on your own if none of this work then its probably a hardware issue and you should replace the webcam

Don't you worry, You can still use your CD driver even if you use windows 7. I use windows 7 too, I'm experiencing many program incompatibility too but not until i learned how to install a program using windows 7 and run it in an older version of windows. Before you install the program, right click the installation icon first then choose " troubleshoot compatibility". It would let you choose what kind of Operating system your program will use.:D

i would go to
start
computer
right click computer and go to properties
then device manager
then scroll down and try to find the web cam there
double click the webcam and go into properties
click on the driver then click uninstall
then restart the laptop straight away
and when it restarts hopefully windows will reload the driver correctly
