Dell - 924 Photo printer. A paper jam occurred - intact sheet of paper was cleared - printer continues to issue same "paper Jam" error. Have pulled and replugged - have restarted computer - to no avail. It sounds as if cartridges will not return to proper position. Please advise.

Greetings, the problem is that the printer has to re-start to function. So you should check that the mechanism has no paper, my recommendation is to take you to a repair center to check it because you will probably have broken parts.

4TH LIGHT FROM THE TOP KEEPS COMING ON LEXMARK E232

What this light sequence means that the printer has a paper jam.

When a paper jam occurs, the printer stops and the operator panel's Paper Jam light and Continue button lights come on. Press and release Continue twice quickly to display the specific secondary error paper jam light sequence.

How to clear Paper Jam

?· Press Continue button twice quickly to see the secondary error code.

To get the secondary error codes

?· When the Error light (!) and Continue button lights are both on, a secondary error has occurred.

?· When the Paper Jam light (4th light) and Continue button lights are both on, a paper jam secondary error has occurred.

?· Press and release Continue button twice quickly to display the secondary error code light sequence.

Press Continue button to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path.

We recommend that you clear the entire paper path when a paper jam occurs.

To clear a paper jam:

1 If you are feeding paper from a tray, remove the tray, and then remove any jams.

2 Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

NOTE: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an Extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.

3 Remove any jams in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

4 Lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any jams beneath the flap.

5 Open the rear exit and remove any jams.

6 After you have cleared the jams, reinstall the print cartridge assembly, make sure all printer covers and trays are closed, and then press Continue button to resume printing.

NOTE: The printer reprints the pages that caused the paper jam.

I was printing a report and had one page left to go and I noticed that it was out of paper. So I got some paper and put it in the paper slot. The printer fed about 6 sheets in a one time and that caused...

there is still paper stuck in the printer. open up the front of the printer (as if you were changing the ink cartridge) and remove the paper. Then turn the printer off and on. Good luck.

Keeps telling me to clear paper jam but I dont see one

look on the back to see if there is a removable plate that will expose the rollers. On my HPs I have to clear a paper jam when ever the paper in the tray absorbs too much moisture. A sheet gets crumpled in the rollers where you cannot see it and the back plate allows me to pull the crumpled sheet clear. That is also where the paper sensor is located.

Dell 924

**HW support: 877-459-7298 and you must have the Express Service Code of your printer or any Dell product you're calling in so that they can route you to the right department.** Usually, if you're having paper jams, it could be a mechanical problem with the printer. Try these: - turn off the printer. unplug the power adapter for 1-2 minutes - lift the printer upside down and shake it sideways (strange huh?... usually, this helps because it can re-align those things that may not be aligned right inside the printer) - then, adjust the paper guides and use about 10-15 pieces of paper. try using the printer. if it's still the same... it really is the printer. - if it's still under warranty, Dell can replace it. This information is from Dell, try it it can't hurt.

If not load a letter sized 8.5 x 11" inch sheet of paper or carstock in printer print somthing let paper get about halfway down in printer then uplug printer and plug it back up as it comes back on it will usally rotate rollers forcing the paper out if you used card stock this should be stiff enough to force the smaller paper out
