Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard Bus:0A, Device:09, Function:00 = CARDREADER PROBLEM

Hi all, my Acer Aspire 5570Z Laptop displays the following error at startup.
"
PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1

Pressing F1 allows Windows to load fine. Device Manager reports that the CARDREADER is at Bus10 (which is 0A in hexadecimal) so maybe the cardreader has some damage. I'd like to know if I can fix this, by opening the laptop, pulling out the cardreader and seeing if there's any bent or broken wires or metal. Otherwise I'd like to remove the cardreader altogether in the hope that the "press f1" page doesn't keep appearing every time I turn on the computer or restart.

Tried default bios settings as you suggested, same error. Also tried various bios versions from acer website, and Vista, XP, and no operating systems present on hard drive .. I'm gonna open up laptop right now to see if I can fix cardreader (?) or remove it hoping the error message will not appear (?) The 5 in 1 cardreader brand is texas instruments, and I believe the pcmcia card slot is physically part of the device.

I did try all that, and it didnt work, on a 5050 acer built on a 3100 gabinet.

I think that the problem is that the cardreader chip is not well glued to the motherboard, that's why it gives you that error. If you try pressing certain points of the computer while booting, it miraculously stops giving that conflict error.

We should be payed back by Acer, as this is an project issue =P

Try booting to the system setup (F2 most likely at boot) and resetting the BIOS DEFAULTS, save and exit

I have the same fault in Exploration of the Toshiba laptop I thought that the problem in the BIOS I have to change the BIOS of the motherboard from another device is identical to him, but did not change the message. The device to restart the work or entering the BIOS. Does not enter the Hard disk or the CD-ROM or slots of the USPI. Found that the problem in the cache on the motherboard BIOS that is stored clothing and replied to her and when I unloaded as follows.
Remove the keyboard from the device you will be proud of card Remove the card below it you will notice two signs**88
When you close with some of these points and left it for 24 hours you run the laptop did not show the message again, but this may have eliminated the possibility of a password again from the BIOS as the storage room and place one empty one.

I had forgotten that less that he must remove the battery time on the board in order can not BIOS to remember the main problem in the slide-causing malfunction and which we can overcome that property in the program built, which is used by the BIOS to lose parts where there is a flaw, and it allows for a follow-up operation

Hi

you could try to press F8 on startup eg press power key then press F8 holding down for a few seconds and hopefully it will take you into some repair options

i would try the last known good configuration option to start with
then windows will restart and try to repair it back to when it was good

and if that dont work try the safe mode/system restore

hope you get it sorted

many thanks

Power off automatically after 10 - 15 min

Your hard disk has crashed. Take it in to a computer store (Microcenter, Fry's, TigerDirect, or Best Buy) to get a new one. The data on your computer's hard drive may not be able to be saved.

I have aproblem with my Acer Aspire 3100 Laptop

locate the cmos/bios jumper below your memory ddr2 modules (J2) you need to be sure to make contact trought this jumper pe.-with a screwdriver, put back your memory modules and turn on your laptop, this process will clear your cmos/bios memory, you will need to setup your dates.

If this will not work you will need to replace your Mobo because of a faulty, we can replace your Mobo if you are interested:

Laptop will not fully start

This could be a device failure. However, try flashing the bios. Do this by going to Acer's support site and creating a bootable disc with the bios or updated bios, if there is any, on it. Then run this in your machine. You will have to use a different computer to do this, apparently. If this doesn't fix the problem, then you will need to take it in and have a tech run down the device that failed.
