Canon SmartBase MP360S printer

Hi
I bout a second hand Canon SmartBase MP360S printer.
Automatic installation was OK.
Try to print but everything was running fine, except there was no printout to show.
Changed B&W and colour cartridge and noticed the same problem.
Left it few days and tried again noticed the following
1- There is delay of responding by the printer about 3 minutes
2- Receive message: Ann error ha occurred when printing the following print job. Click cancel to stop printing.
Then click [Start Status Monitor], gave another message: printer not responding. & Paper Thickness Lever Position
I have Microsoft Windows Vista.
Greatly appreciate any help that you can offer.

Thank you
Jas

Canon mp30s cartridge jammed

Since making my query post my husband seems to have solved the problem. I first tried the solution offered here for another printer model (remove then replace actual print head unit with the cartridges intact) but that didn't help. So my husband put a small amount of WD40 (also known as CRC) on the slide bar that the print head moves along. That seems to have freed everything up.
