I just bought an M-Audio Keystation 88ES. I have a used Behringer expression pedal. The pedal works fine in the sustain input, but when I insert the jack in the volume input it cuts all power to the unit. When I pull it out, power comes back on. Is this a fault with the keyboard volume input, or with the pedal, or do I need to configure something? Thanks.

If the power goes off when you plug in the pedal, the pedal LIKELY has a short in it between two of the three connections at the plug.

Firat, try putting the pedal plug in BEFORE applying power.

Likely the pedal presents a pot or volume control that will have like 5 volts across it an the wiper returned on the same cable. If the wiring configuration is wrong OR if the plug goes through a period of shorting the 5 volts out during insertion that will cause a problem...

To troubleshoot, move the pedal to half way and these with an ohmmeter for shorts between ANY two of the three connections.

Hi. I have bought a Behringer Bass Synth BSY600 and a Boss FV-300L Volume / Expression pedal. Both work on their own but i can't get the Expression pedal to work with the Bass synth. The expression...

The FV300l WILL NOT work tying it into the EXP of the BSY600. What you need to do is to run your guitar into the IN of the BSY600 and use TWO audio cables from the BSY600 output, the OUT and the DIR out and run those into the two IN's of the FV-300L. Then use whichever function by connecting the two OUT''s of the FV-300L to two channels of the mixer or a two channel amp so you could proportion the BSY600's effects as desired. You could also just use whichever out from the FV-300L you want which originates in the BSY600. The BSY600 is made to use an expression pedal that is a single TRS plug which is simpler, but you can use your FV-300L as I have described just as well, it just can't use the EXP input of the BSY600.

My child jammed something inside of my keystation pro usb connector.... Broke the copper connectors inside.... Whats the best way t go about this ... replace the entire piece or soder in a new copper line

If the traces are lifted, then use jumpers to the points of origin of each trace. Tack the jumpers down with silicone seal or other adhesive.

Replace the connector ifthere is any chance of damage to the connector itself.

Keystation 61 key won't play

Most of these use conductive rubber pills that are pressed onto circuit board traces by the keys.

Clean the board AND the pills with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and QTips.

M-audio ProKeys 88sx -- all led lights flash, no sound Upon turning the keyboard on, all led lights on the top panel flash. No sound from the keyboard. Is there a re-set button or something?

I have two of these. First thing check your power adapter for output. Just because LED's are on doesn't mean there is correct voltage... There is no reset button... Cycling power serves to reset it.

ALSO check the power input connector... sometimes those get intermittent and break connection due to vibration and initial current surge when turning on.

The prongs on the USB connector broke off. Do we need to replace a board and if so how do we do so?

You can buy new connector and replace broken one. You need skill at soldering and of course have to open the unit to access the broken connector.
