Heres how you can connect your controller to your PS3.

1. Press the tiny Reset Button on the back of the controller

2. Plug in the USB Connection wire

3. Restart Console

4. When loaded, Press the PS Button

My dualshock 3 controller wont charge when i plug it in it doesnt do anything until i hit the PS button. then it will work fine but doesnt charge. i tried resetting it but it doesnt work. when it it...

First, try hitting the reset button on the back on your controller - it's located just to the right of the screw located just above the label describing the FCC information about the controller. The button can be pushed with a paperclip, toothpick, or pen. If this is unsuccessful, then try plugging your controller into a USB port on your home computer or laptop. Other than that, I would recommend trying to return your controller, it may have been constructed wrong and the warranty should cover it. Good luck!

My ps3 is dead!!!. flashing red light

Hello,

Follow the procedure below to fix the problem on your ps3,

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

The current Recovery Menu supports:
• Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
• Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
• Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
• Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.

Controller not working

Either it's a new controller or it needs re-registered to your system. Turn your PS3 on and connect the controller to the PS3 via power cable. On the top of the controller if you're looking at it from the back, you'll see a tiny pinhole in front of the 4 lights. Hit your PS button to make the red lights flash, then with something tiny, like a toothpick, press in the button for a second. This will register your controller.

Good luck and if i've helped to resolve your problem please give me the applicable rating.

Respectfully,

Don

My controller won't recognize the system, and i have no cable to connect them together, can i get a quick fix?

Yep,

Eventually you will need a cord to charge it, if you push the PS button and the red lights flash it means that it has at least some charge.

With your PS3 turned on and at the main screen; look at the top of your controller where you see the numbers 1-4. Behind that (pretty much on the back top) you'll see a tiny pin hole. Get something to push the button in that hole when you hit the PS button and this will automatically sinc up your controller.

If this doesn't work, get a cable and connect the controller to the PS3 and push this button again.

If I've helped you, please give me 4 thumbs up!

The controller is not powering up with new batteries

If your controller does not power up then it is because it has not been synced to the console.

I do not know what system you have so I can not tell you how to do this.

For instance, If you have a Wii, you need to turn on the wii, open the battery cover on the controller. Press the little red button. Then open the little door on the wii where you put the memory card and hit that red button. that should connect the controller to the Wii.

For Xbox 360:
1) Turn on 360 (ring of light) and controller (Start or Guide button).
2) Press the Connect button on the 360.
3) Press the Connect button that's at the top of the controller, next to the slot for a charging cord.
4) Everything spins and flashes, and syncs up.

If you have PS3 then:

Plug your controller into the console with the usb cable, then hit the PS button. that will sync it to the PS3 then you can unplug it.

Hope this helps! Thanks for using Fixya!!

Problem with ps3 controller

Try hard resetting it by doing this:

Flip the controller over, and press the reset button. It's to the right of the middle-top screw ps3_controller_reset.jpg. You'll need something like a paperclip, toothpick, or something similar to push the button. Once you've reset your controller, connect it to your PS3 with a handy USB cable, and press the PS button (just like you did when you first got the controller). Now, it is paired again, and you should be OK.

Controller still wont work

Hmm. I think i'll need a bit more info please.

When you reset your PS3 and the system's light goes red and you hit the PS button your controller the four lights just flash? Is that right? The only time your controller will "connect is when you plug it in with USB?

Try this. Turn your PS3 on. Press the reset button on the back of your controller and hold it for a few seconds, then press the PS button to see if it connects then. If it doesn't you could try removing the internal battery from the controller and putting it back in. That might clear up any settings that were saved in it.

Let me know how it goes.

None of the Wash Cycles are Working

It's probably the touchpad - commonly used buttons quit working after a while. If not, then it's the electronic control board.
