While I'm watching TV through my Yamaha HTR 3063, the video cuts out for about 2 sec but audio works fine. This happens about 10 times a day. My set up is as following, a outdoor coax cable to a HD dual tuner DVR then a HDMI cable to the Yamaha Receiver the a HDMI cable to my new Samsung Plasma TV. If I bypass the Receiver everything works fine. What could my problem be?

I contacted Yamaha support in Toronto ON - the tech said that HDMI handshake issues are common for all manufacturers. Standard suggestions were offered including changing the HDMI cables and making sure the said cables are as short as possible (HDMI has not error correction so long, cheap cables can introduce errors such as "sparkles" in the video image). So in my case its either live with it (which I have been) or get rid of the Yamaha receiver and buy another make hoping it does not do the same thing.
