You have not given me any detailed in formation such as your model number to help you. You model number is on a label on the side wall near the top, in your fresh food section.

The one leg of your lever arm goes into the front part of the motor module, which is in the front of your ice maker. The arm is interlocked with plastic gear components one or more of these components are broke.

I am guessing if the following ice maker is what you have.

I do not know what type of ice maker you have. Some have wire arms on the side, some have a downward plastic curved arm and some have a paddle arm on the side.
Some ice makers when they harvest have a plastic ice mold that rotate and flex, others have a little heater that heats the mold then activates finger arms to rotate and sweep the cubes from the mold.
Bad Sensor? All ice makers have temperature sensors. The sensor activates the harvesting of ice cubes when it senses the cubes are frozen. On some plastic ice cube molds it is a white wire on the bottom of the mold. On the cast steel molds the sensor is in contact with the mold at the front end.
Bad Motor Module? All ice makers have a motor module. The module has a control board and plastic gearing for the motor with in the module. The motor module is the assembly in front of the ice maker. The motor module tells the water valve when & how much water to fill the mold. It tells the mold heater, on the cast steel molds when to turn on after it reads the temperature sensor and then it tells the motor when to start rotation.
Not all ice makers can be repaired. Most are solid state.
The ice maker with the cast steel mold can be repaired. Remove the ice maker - Unscrew the one screw under the ice maker. Loosen the 2 screws on top so you can lift up and remove the ice maker from the wall. With a small screw driver wedge in the wire harness connector to free the icemaker. Pop the front cover off (No screws). Unscrew the 3 screws on the motor module and remove. This part is replaceable. Inspect for Burn marks and broken gearing. Unscrew the 2 screws to the heater and mold assembly to access the sensor - this is replaceable. There is no way to test this sensor.

I'm having trouble identifying that model number, but I can give you the generic answer. On most icemakers the "shut off" is lifting the wire arm to the up position. It should lock in that position. Lifting the arm shuts it off in the same manner that it stops the ice maker when too many cubes are in the tray. I have seen some icemakers that actually have a swich on the front side of them. But, they are in an obvious position so I'm guessing you don't have that style.

There is a tub that goes through the back of the freezer wall into the ice maker. Sometimes this tube will freeze shut and needs to be thawed out.

The water fill tube will freeze shut from low water pressure. Ether from a bad water valve or low pressure to the refrigerator itself.

Pull the refrigerator out and remove the tube from the back wall to check it.

Also note that,

Sounds like the thermistor is bad in the ice maker itself, and there are 3 more micro switches, and some other things in there too, just easier too replace ice maker than parts for it.

If it turns out to be the ice maker, look on the tag in the ref. side, which list the model number and serial number. look @ bottom of that tag, it will give you a model number for the ice maker kit you need.

Arm should not be in up position unless harvest cycle is in progress. Or unless you manually put it there to cut off Ice Maker. Most likely ice maker is defective

the ice maker unit go bad fast :( the unit need to be replace unless its under waranty .

The front cover (white module cover) snaps off--remove the 3 screws that hold the module in and remove the module(male end), it will be stiff but can be carefully pried off with a small to medium flat screwdriver. There are 3(three)---1/4 inch hex head screws that hold the ice maker in, 2 on the top into the side of the freezer, and 1 from under the ice maker--they aren't hard to find but it is best to use a regular length spin tight not a stubby to remove them. Remove the 2 phillips head screws that hold the "BLACK" section of the module to the ice maker and the spindle that rotates to move the cubes out of the ice maker into the ice bin will come out of the ice make and the plasticseparator fingers will come off the ice maker too. Now that it is disassembled you can clean everything and reassemble. check out this fig

the plastic arms that move the flapper door open and closed are broken. I had this happen to me some months back. You will need to buy a repair kit from your local dealer. Explain what is broken and they can look up their part/kit number. You can't buy just the plastic door. Mine cost about $30 but was worth the price of getting my ice maker dispenser operating again. Very minor mechanics required to open this portion of the mechanism. Mostly some removal of screws and a spring or two. Good luck.

Sounds like the arm which determines if ice bucket is full is hanging up on something. Does this arm move up and down freely? If not, you just need to replace the complete ice maker.

Hello. Yes, that is the correct position for the icemaker feeler arm. The updated icemaker has a longer feeler arm that hangs down a little more (thereby shutting off sooner when the ice piles up not so high).

Your water leak onto your food is from water spilling out of the front left corner of the ice tray during fill. This has also been updated with a plastic lip that keeps the water from sloshing out when filling up.

The photo shows that your ice tray appears to be unlevel and drooping in the front left corner. This happens with flex tray icemakers over time. The icetray does not fully flex back to its level posiiton. I do not feel you need to replace the entire icemaker. Repalcing just the ice tray should fix your issue.
