I just bought a '04 VW Jetta last week, my freind had a xpload cd player for sale so I bought it. I went to car toys and bought an adapter for the back of my cd player, then i hooked up all the wired from the car to the adapter and inserted it in the back of the stero.
It worked perfectly fine then yesterday, I went to move it down because the cup holder was getting in the way of me being able to see the buttons to change the song or volume.I pulled the deck out to move it down & stoped working.I stopped the car re-wired all the cords and put it back in (lower portion) Started my car up and normally it lights up and the face will flip around and then play well it cd player had power cause it ejected my cd but would lose power and shut off. I even tried using another deck that I had in the trunk and the same thing started and takes the cd the shuts off.
PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON BUT MY MUSIC IS MY LIFE AND I HAVE PUT EVENTHING ON HOLD UNTIL I HAVE MUSIC AGAIN. ITS THERAPY IT EVERYTHING. ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPERICATED!!!!!

EPS is the electric power steering assist. That is different from the EPC light that is the traction control. Could be that the brake shop did not reset the system properly or they messed up a sensor.
Did you find a solution? If not reconnect the power wire to either ignition or accessory, this way when the key is taken out there will be no power at the radio
Hello, I have a wolfsburg 2007, on your car's cd player you need to press twice the cd option till you see Auxiliar on the display. Once you have aux, play your ipod, mp3, etc.
Have VW check it out. I had just got my 04 GLI with 70,000 miles when the light came on. The thermostat triggered the light and so I had the whole timing belt, thermostat, and water pump service. Worth the money.
Laser units will over a period of time lose their ability to properly focus on the data that is on the disk. When that happens, it simply goes to laser heaven - cleaning does not and will not repair the fact that the unit is dying or dead!
U wasted 28 bucks. Your best bet is to go to Crutchfield and find a unit that will fit and work properly in the allotted space of your car. Also a lot cheaper that going to a VW dealer.
Call VW parts department and they can get you a manual give them your vin # and they can tell you what kind of disc player you had in it. it may take a few days
