Question about StarTech.com StarView SV211K 2-port KVM Switch
Before you begin, reprogramming cable receivers is NOT a process for a novice user so be warned - there is a reason why some folk charge for this.
Go to http://eko.4shared.com
In the right hand window click the folder called The Box
Then click the Software folder
Click GTROMv4.00.exe and follow the onscreen instructions to download the file to your PC.
When go back to http://eko.4shared.com and click on Firmware, choose the most recent file and download that too (currently 454 however if you are flashing a clone box do not use an update higher than 400 or you risk frying the box's processor).
Now make sure you have a suitable RS232 cable and visit the Afterdawn forum for instructions on how to use the GTROM loader to put the api file on your box.
It's a long procedure to explain so it's not one anyone is likely to detail here.
Try this link http://www.wmtechsupport.co.uk/forum they have some guides on boxes that you may find useful and, as they are a new forum, you should be able to get a response quickly.
Good luck.
