I have made a few attempts in trying to setup a folder for DNS-323 to have my brother access it from the internet on his location.
The only way that I can do this is to setup a folder and have it configured in FTP. Problem is that FTP does not see the folder that I am trying to set this user to have access to. FTP sees the ENTIRE root directory which I surely do not want him to have access to.
I have called DLINK multiple times and each one tells me to do something different but no one is telling me a proper solution. They say try this and call us right back! What type of support is this and it's tough trying to understand someone who is also learning to speak English.
Anyone here with a solution please let me know. Thanks.
Carlo

SOURCE: Can't Access Public Shares via NFS
You can mount the shares something like this:
mount -t cifs -o username=backup,password=YoUrPaSS //192.168.0.145/projects /mnt/nas/projects/
...where 192.168.0.145 is IP of SS4000-E and /projects is the shares folder
and /mnt/nas/projects/ is folder you have created on your Linux box
Hope this helps
Best Regards

SOURCE: i try to connect DLINK dns 323 to WD TV by USB
The USB port on the D-Link DNS 323 NAS is for a printer only. It won't work with your WD TV. Your best bet would be to plug the WD TV into a PC that is connected to your network along with the D-Link DNS 323 NAS and serve your media files that way.
