had the same problem(awlh4030). The chipset on the adapter is mfg by Atheros. If you use the Atheros ar5005gs wireless network adapter driver that comes with windows 7 it works with no problem.
you need to reinstall ALL drivers for all devices, clean. formatting is what causes that..this will take some time..but you can get through it. check your computers warranty here 4 FREE
