I am unable to access the internet even tho my computer says I am
connected and the signal is good. I just get a white page that says
unable to access the page.
Even thou it says you are connected, your configuration in your router may be different. you may be reading false signer.
At this point I don't know
if you are using wireless or wire.
Do you have a switch connected to your router?
Try to ping your router---192.168.1.1 for example.

Yes, you can if your Router supports MAC filtering.
you can put in the MAC address of the computers that you want to access the internet into the MAC filtering page. Any computer NOT listed on this page will NOT have access to the internet.
(I know that some routers can block listed addresses as well, but you would have to consult your manual for that)
I have a different router with similar problem but to fix this problem I just shut down the CPU and the router, then I waited a minute or 2 so it would reset and when I turned it back on everything woked fine. could be as easy as clicking on the repair internet connection icon so it will rest IP, but you may have already tried that. Good luck
Access the preferred network settings (if you are using the Windows wireless setup - right click on the wireless icon + view available wireless networks + preferred networks) for your machine and edit the listing for your wireless network, you'll need to uncheck the box that says something to the effect of "an authentication key is provided for me" and enter your security key in the boxes provided.
If it still fails - you may want to remove your network from the preferred listing and add it manually, making sure that the authentication is turned off as described and with your security key entered twice.
I had the same problem. I reset the home portal to factory setting and uninstalled the 2wire software from my main computer. I then reinstalled the system using installation cd that came with 2wire.
ok I found the ip address
how do I Ping my router I don't understand what you mean?
