If it's a Windows laptop, the easiest way to format it would be to use your Windows installation DVD. Put the DVD in the drive, then restart your computer. Follow the prompts until you get to the partition select screen. At the bottom, click "Advanced Options", then the format option should show.

For a Mac laptop, basically the same thing. Put your OS X DVD in the drive, then restart. Hold the C key down until you see a grey screen with the Apple logo. Select your language when it asks, then select "Disk Utility"

I have GE C1130 and it has a tendency of losing pictures . When you go on the viewing part it shows empty. Also shows empty when you hook it to a computer. I haven't deleted anything. Last time the pics...
This is a formatting problem (in other words, it's likely you did not format the card in your camera when you first got it). First thing to do is back up all photos from the card onto your computer. Afterwards, format the card IN THE CAMERA using the camera's format feature. This will correct the problem from reoccurring in the future, but will also erase the card! So again, only do this after backing up your photos.

My nokia 5200 is not formatting its memory card. i go into gallery and press on memory card when i do so it says memory card not formatted so i click format memory card it says its formatted and i click on...
Remove the memory card from the phone, then plug it in to compatible card reader on your computer. It will appear under your Hard Drives on the My Computer window. Right-click on it then click format. On the format window make sure to set the File System to FAT 32, once the formatting is done. Right-click on it again then click on Eject. Plug it back in to your phone to check if it works fine now. If not then have the memory card replaced.

I am unable to copy files, delete files and even not to format the device.
Hi,
The first thing to do, to make your player ready for file transfer in Windows, is to Format the player with Windows.
When connected to a PC, in My Computer, it will appear as a Removeable Drive. Right click on it and choose Format.
Complete the process and you are ready to transfer files!

No files on sansa m 240 but appear on computer
Try formatting your mp3 player which might fix this problem. Also do some updates from the manufacturers website. This may be a known bug which your mp3 players manufacturer may have found and made a new driver version for.

To format follow these steps below:

First go to "My Computer" - now look for your mp3 player usually named under for example "Removable Disk F", when you've found it "Right-Click" on it then click on "Format", when format is complete try after that.

How to change the date format?
Select the cell or column or range containing the date(s). Click Format -> Cells On the Number tab, click Date This will give you the various formats available. The default date format is determined by the settings in the control panel. Windos XP: Control Panerl -> Date, Time, Language and Regional Options -> Change the format of numbers, dates, and times -> Customize This dialog box has tabs for Numbers, Currency, Time, and Date. There you can select the default formats for how you want things to appear. Hope this helps.
