Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? Ifnot then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED lightstays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder jointwhere it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Display not working, computer turns on

Step 1.
Attach a regular CRT to the monitor port on the back of your system. You'll be able to use
the computer as before using the CRT as your display rather than the system LCD display.
Step 2.
Use your computer software (you didn't mention what OS you're running), hunt up any/all
vendor-supplied video diagnostics for your system, or download the manual for
your computer at:

Toshiba a215-s5837 problem, ac light only flashes

You may have a bad battery. Many times laptops will not work if the battery is faulty. The first step would be to replace the battery with a new one.

Second Step: If the battery is working, then you may have a faulty AC power supply. It may be enough power being brought to power up the LCD light, but not the computer.

Third Step: Yoru mother board circuitry could be bad in the sense that some circuits are broken or the power conduit is not supplying the power to the rest of the circuits on the board.

If you are not a professional and able to troubleshoot in this manner after testing the batter and AC power supply, then I would suggest taking the laptop to a store for them to test the circuitry flow of the mother board.

My A215 wont stay powered up. It shut down and

Try running the computer on the Battery power and check if the power sustains. If not, then disconnect the power cord and remove the battery and leave it for a few hours then try turning it on.

If the problem exists then the power supply unit is required to be replaced. You may contact service center to get the power supply unit replaced.

There is power in the laptop.

if you say that either the battery nor the adapter was tested and seemed working fine but not actually giving power to the laptop itself then the problem is the motherboard from your laptop i m afraid
