I have what i thought was a classic model juicer - its model L658. There are no holes for the "crescent tool". just 3 screws securing the blade - do I just unscrew the screws for cleaning?

ok i am posting my own solution! after fussing with this thing for like a half hour - i unscrewed the screws but that did nothing. I had to grip the orange filter firmly - wiggle it and pull up. then it comes out. they must have invented the crescent tool to make this much easier. but all you have to do is put some oomphf into it and it comes out. practice a few times and you're good!

SOURCE: No crescent tool included with purchase to remove the blade

I have a jack lalane juicer that has the screw-peg broken and the only solution is to buy the whole motor as this part is molded to it, so I'm going to ditch it as it's not worth it. I can post the orange 'crescent tool/key' to you if you still need one. Cheers, Barbara

Need to take apart to clean ,cant find manual

If yours is the "express" you can download it off a website. Google search, "Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer OWNER'S MANUAL."
My model was different and needed this stupid little "crescent wrench." Not a normal crescent wrench, but a crescent moon shaped handle with two little knob things sticking out that fit into the two holes in the top of the blade. It screwed counter-clockwise until parts all came out for cleaning.
(hint: I never toss my owner's manual, but I couldn't find it anywhere until I saw on the box that it said it came with a recipe book. I went to my recipe book cabinet, and there was the owner's manual - in the recipe book.)
Good luck.

Make sure the Juicer is unpluged. What you need is the cresent tool or two metal objects to place in the two holes opposite each other and press down the metal objects in the holes while turning counter clockwise. It kind of acts like a lock and key system.

Crescent tool is missing---what can i use instead

Just find a big wire around 1/8 diameter. Bend it and insert both ends on the blade holes. Cover the sharp blade with cloth or use leather gloves.

Jack lalane juicer

All in the name of health I said a lot of bad words, except that I know I never toss out my owner's manuals. I finally went to find my juicer model number when I noticed that the box said that it came with a recipe book (!) so I ran to my recipe book cupboard and sure enough the owner's manual was with it. (Maybe yours is there..)
Anyway, the key is this "crescent wrench." Doesn't look like a normal crescent wrench at all, but the handle is shaped like a crescent moon. It has two little pegs that stick out and fit into the two holes in the top of the blade, Then it twisted counter-clock-wise, the blade **still screwed into the piece underneath it, then it easily comes out, as do the other parts inside. It was just that rotten little "wrench" piece WHICH, I might add, is unique to my model. If you download the other owner's manual that's online, it doesn't mention any such tool for their model. (sorry, I can't find a model # for mine. There is a "V3 52803" on the back of the manual if that's the model.) Good luck. Hope this helps you. Happy, and healthy juicing.
p.s. in the end...it's all about Jesus.
