MICROWAVE WILL ONLY HEAT ON CERTAIN SETTINGS. how do i set the heating instructions?

Are you sure that Model Number is correct? There are 73 Oster Microwave Manuals here, but none of that model number designation. When in doubt 'Read the Manual'.

The kilograms settings are for meats and cakes and large objects. All microwaves have a seconds and minutes setting. Most also have presets for certain things like Pizza and Popcorn.

Hi Ginny,you need to adjust the heat settings,I have a Panaasonic one too,works great,If you can get it right,let me know the model type it is and I will send you the user guide.

When it did heat food before and you used the same settings now, the microwave must be defect.
But before you are sure, put a cup with water in the micro and try to heat that.
Dry food can't be heated in a microwave. There must be some moist in the food if you want to heat it in the microwave.

A model number would have helped, but I can give you a generic answer.
It may be a bad door switch or mount.
(Anybody in the home opening the door while it's cooking?)

No! there is no reset, the power surge has more than likely damaged the keypad controller, and on the back is a circuit board that has the microprocessor with additional components that controls the vital areas of the microwave oven. If that is gone, it is cheaper to replace than to repair.

If unit heats your problem is in the control board, most commonly would be one of your door switches

The problem will be a bad relay, a component that drives the relay, or a broken trace on the circuit board.
