SOURCE: samsung mp3 player crash
Hi undercover. I don't have experience of your actual model, but I've had a similar thing happen to my Inovix MP3/4 player when it crashed (also crashing my whole computer!) and went completely 'dead'. Plugging it into the USB port had no effect - no charge symbol and the computer didn't even acknowledge something was being plugged in. Basically, I kept on trying every time I was on the computer! 2 days later, I plugged it in and 'ding-dong' Windows XP recognised something was in the USB port. I then carried out a Firmware re-load using the supplied disc, and my player burst into life! Firmware crashes are pretty common with various players, I believe. Depending on how old your player is, try the manufacturer's website to see if they've updated the Firmware. Good luck.

The license on the songs is limited, or the songs downloaded are only samples. Convert the files to mp3 format, and you will find that you no longer have a problem.
SOURCE: wont turn on
To turn the player on, not only do you have to slide the switch to the 'On' position, but you also have to hold down the 'Play' button for a few seconds. A little boy on a snowboard should fly across your screen at that point, if that was the problem. ^^
