You have to take it apart. Unscrew screws on bottom, short screw is at the front. turn over with top up. take plastic covering off first, then turn over again. unscrew retaining screws which keep beater brush in. take out beater brush. get seam ripper from sewing kit, and clean off all threads, etc..take a blower and clean out the motor of the unit. replace light bulb while you are at it. get new fan belt and replace. put back together with wheels down and make sure all electrical contacts are connected..snap top on, and screw back together...

Possible problems:
Broken or disconnected wire in hose, connections, power nozzle.
Hose needs replaced. Check all connections for discoloration and cracked supports. Have power nozzle checked at a vacuum shop. Depending on the model, take it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for this.
Bad power nozzle motor Needs replaced.
Bad switch. Take the whole machine in for thorough check and repair..
