Can tomtom one be use with Microsoft map it? - Tomtom ONE 3rd Edition GPS

To update the maps on your TomTom 610, use the MyDrive Connect software (from tomtom). If this tomtom software is not yet installed on your computer/laptop, download it from the tomtom website (e.g. www.tomtom.com) and install it. Then follow the instructions to update your map, after connecting your GPS device to your computer.
You may have to create a TomTom account (and register your device), sign in to your account, locate the replacement map or any new maps (of other regions) you wish to install, download the maps and install the map.
If you have a "lifetime" map (privilege) for your device, you won't have to pay (subscribe) for the updated map.

This will happen when the map info is incorrect ... by a short distance or a long ways.
If your map is not up-to-date, this may happen. If this is the case, updating your map may help.
The tomtom (navigation) software enables you to correct the map data and to share it (using your tomtom HOME software) with tomtom / others. Hopefully, the correction will be verified by TomTom (map data provider) and the map data will be corrected in the next release of the map.

If you had originally purchased a (new) TomTom with a "free" lifetime maps, you can download (from the tomtom website) updates to that map free, whenever that map is updated (usually four times a year).
If not, you can buy/subscribe to new maps on the tomtom website, (www.tomtom.com). Just click on "Maps & Services" ... and you'll be able to select and buy/subscribe to the map(s) you want.

Usually, if you buy a (new) TomTom with a "free" lifetime maps, it is only for the (one) existing/current map(s) installed on the device. So, if that applies to your TomTom, you'd be able to get maps for South Africa (for life).
To get a TomTom map for Australia, just go to the tomtom website, (www.tomtom.com) and click on "Maps & Services" ... and you'll be able to select and buy/subscribe to the map(s) you want.

Usually, you connect your TomTom to your computer, and use the TomTom software (e.g. HOME) to update (e.g. buy, download and install) your map(s).
If your question is about how to copy a (new / another) map on your computer to your TomTom device (i.e. without using the TomTom HOME software), you can simply copy the "map" folder (of the map on your computer) to your TomTom Device (that you've connected to your computer).
You may have other questions like, is there enough memory on your TomTom device for the map ?; is the (new/other) map version compatible for the TomTom (model/version) device that you have ?; is the map "activated" to run on your TomTom device? etc.

I do some work with TomTom - it's possible that if something interrupted or went wrong during the install, the map could have been deleted. TomTom is aware of the problem and is working to fix it - if you are map-less, call support (866 486 6866) and we can work on getting you a new map.

Since you TomTom only has a 1 gb flash drive you will have to remove the map of England to put the map of France on your TomTom One Third Edition. Make sure you make a backup of your map of England or you will have to purchase a new map of England Do not use TomTom Home to do this simply make a new folder on your desktop. Connect your TomTom to the PC. Next go to "My Computer" and open the drive of your TomTom. After opening the drive of your TomTom copy your map of England and paste it into the new folder you made on your desktop. When you are ready to put the map of England back onto your TomTom just copy and paste the map of France into the new folder and copy and paste the map of England back into your TomTom.

Hope this helps looks like you haveto pay for map updates after 30 days, but I am not positive.

There are no India maps for tomtom. For India maps you may use Mapking, SatNav or MapMyIndia (best maps but with lousy software).
