I have a Philips 42pfl7422 that turns on, shows the start screen for 2-3 seconds then goes blank. Power light stays on. I have a second 42pfl7422 that has a broken lcd, This unit powers on and stays on, no picture, back light only. Switching the power board and the main board results in the same problem. The TV with the good LCD has a different back light system, so I can not switch the inverter boards. I have not looked to see if the entire back light and inverters can be switched. Is the problem the inverters or the LCD sub board?
Thanks
Thanks, I have checked the inverters and found a blown fuse on the slave and two mosfets that are shorted out. Do you know where I can find mosfets and a KOAC 8 amp ceramic fuse.

I had the same issue, It actually turned out to be the backlights themselves. An easy way to check this is by shining a bright light on the screen while its on. you should be able to see the picture.
If the power light does not turn color and stay's green on startup, it is not a power problem. It is most likely the inverter. If the unit is in warranty, send it out ASAP. Contact HP customer care by email and have the issue logged in.
If in warranty, they will send you a box by FedX second day and have repaired.
This is a 19" monitor and will not be worth paying for repairs if not in warranty.
TV turns on but doesn't stay on goes in and out then blank screen. LED light stays on during the entire time
your problem is called hunting
you can check power supply of your tv .It common problem in Philips T.V.
Thanks
There is probably a bad capacitor within the monitor that will not allow the picture to "hold" in the on configuration. This will need to be replaced. You can send it back to Phillips, or 17" monitors are pretty cheap these days. I would suggest a Samsung or BenQ. They both carry 3yr warranties.
