SOURCE: ariston al1256t bearing replacement
Lay the washing machine on its front & remove the back cover. Loosen the motor mount bolts (2 only) to allow the drive belt to slacken. Sit the drive belt aside. You will notice that the belt goes back into the clean shiny grooves in the motor pulley - be sure to put into the correct grooves when reassembling.
The drum pulley centre bolt is a normal right hand thread ie clockwise to undo. The pulley is then easily removed with a bearing puller.
Loosen the three bolts on the end of the 3 pronged mount, noting which is at the top of the machine - it only goes in the one way. Remove the three pronged mount from the machine. It will withdraw fron the drum shaft easily - worst case use the bearing puller again.
Next knock each bearing out of the three pronged mount with a drift, being careful to not damage the seal on one side. Put new bearings in (with 2RS seals are ok instead of 2Z type ie plastic seal is ok in place of metal seal for these bearings). Refit the seal last of all.
Put all back together & retighten the bolts firmly. Fit the drive belt (in the motor pulley shiny grooves) and retension the belt with the motor mount bolts (2 only) back in the original position.
Don't forget to put the machine back upright before test running!
I have also rebuilt a motor in one of these for about $100 if anybody needs to know how. Much better value than replacing one at $375+.
