I recommend 1 per hard drive.

If you have 1 hard drive, then just one.

If you have 3, then 3.

Simply put, you can install windows into a hard drive already running windows.

In installing both windows xp and windows 7,how can i perform dual boot? i only have cd installer, can i perform the dual boot

When you install the first operating system, there's an option there to create partitions. Make sure to create two partitions each with sizes enough to meet the requirements of the operating system you would install on it. Then proceed with installing the first operating system on the first partition. After you install that, you can boot with the second operating system cd to install it on the second partition.

No operating system found

it mean your operating system is corrupted or your hard disk is not detected with machine

for operating system re install your operating system and if you face any trouble to installing operating system like hard disk not found or no drive.

so go to setup and check that if there showing any hard drive.
absoultly not so plug your data cable and power cable properly on your hard disk and re check now if problem is not solve yet. so now pull out your hard disk from pc and plug the both wire of power and data and now check that your hard disk is running making some noise you can feel that its running if not so replace your hard disk card and now plug it on pc it will running now and install your operating system . you can operate your pc with your old data. thanks

I need instructions to install my new tablet

  • Ensure that your Tablet PC meets the requirements of the operating system that you plan to install. If you do not know the specifications of your Tablet PC, you can view the system information in the Control Panel or check your Tablet PC's manual.

  • 2

Create a backup copy of your files. When you install a new operating system, there is a chance that all your data will be lost.

  • 3

You can create a backup copy on removable media such as a CD or DVD, a network folder or external hard drive.

Upgrade Your Tablet PC With a New Operating System
  • 1

Insert the operating system CD into the CD drive of your Tablet PC. Depending on the operating system that you are installing, this may launch the installation procedure. If it does not, you can manually launch the installation by navigating to the "Setup" file.

  • 2

Follow the instructions that appear on your Tablet PC during the setup process. In addition to providing information such as account names and passwords, you may also need to enter a registration key for the operating system.

  • 3

Ensure that all of your files are still present on your Tablet PC. If any files are missing, use your backup copy to restore them on your Tablet PC.

Down there are more links where you can see much more detailed instrucions.
Sir please rate my solution that would be really kind from you. :)

Wish you best of luck! :) Alex

Inspiron 6000 PC Notebook: supporting operating system...

Hi,

Dell Inspiron 6000 PC supports only Microsoft Windows XP Operating System. You can download Drivers and application from the link:

You may also try installing Windows 7 Operating System. Please refer below article before installing the Operating System.

Please check if the Hardware of the Computer is compatible for installing Windows 7 Operating System.

The Drivers for Windows 7 Operating System is not available for download at the Drivers page of the Computer. However, Windows 7 has a special feature. Most of the generic drivers will be automatically installed during the installation of the Operating System.

Thanks and Regards,

Read above links they will teach you how to do it.
Basically, partition up hard drive, install a "Boot Manager" install Each Operating system, at boot time, PC boots to a "Menu" where you choose which one to start.
OR Use Vmware or Virtual PC, Install on Windows, and you can add as many "Virtual OS's" that you need..

Pc problems

Why do you want to format your hard disk for? Do you wish to install a new operating system on your PC, or do you want to format a second hard disk.

If you want to install a new operating system, then you will need to install a CD drive or an external CD drive and then you can format your drive and install a new operating system.

Use a floppy disk, This must be a boot disk with operating system files. Suggest you use Windows ME.
