Does this happen all the time or just for today? If it's just for today and maybe a few times in the past, like all of us, then you will need to be patient and keep signing in or reset your modem to allow a new fresher connection. If you get signed out, press the PS button in the middle of the controller and sign back in swiftly and it should reconnect.

Reset your modem and run a test again:

Turn off PS3 system..
1: Reset your modem by unplugging it from the main power source.
2: After a few minutes, plug modem power back into modem. Allow all connections to configure
3: Turn on PS3 system.
4: Go to "Settings" then scroll all the way down to "Network Settings"
5: Make sure that the "internet connection" (the second menu) is "Enabled"
6: Go to "Internet Connection Settings" and choose the appropriate settings. (What's highlighted is going to be the best option, continue to hit the right button on the analog to go through the stages.)

A lot of people have problems playing online games with satellite internet. The problem is that while your download speed is usually okay, the upload speed to the satellite is too low and the latency (the time between when your computer sends a message and the satellite relays it to the other party) is way too high.

Unfortunately, you probably will not be able to play any kind of PS3 games online via HughesNet. Computer browser-based games would likely be okay, but your latency will be too high to connect to any PS3 game servers.

Hi, the reason you are experiencing this issue is because the Playstation Network is still not up and running in all areas. It is only working in some. You best bet is to just stop trying to sign in to get on-line and play your games normally off-line until the issue is resolved. They will most likely release an update when it is time for it to be up and running in your area.

This is because the Playstation Network is currently undergoing maintenance due to a recent hacking of their network. We are all still waiting for the Network to be fully restored, until then you cannot play and PS3 games online.

It's about my ps3. I turned on my ps3, my online is fine when its on the main menu but when i'm playing online it signs out so i sign in again and it's fine until after 20-30 seconds it signs out again...
If you're using wireless router try changing to a different channel. Wireless G routers (2.4GHz) run on the same frequency as some wireless phones. Also there could be a lot of interference from other electronic sources, microwave for instance.

Signing into the network.
Hello,
for playing online with the PS3 you have at first to create a PSN (Playstation Network) Account. You can do this easylie right on the PS3 at the "Account-Management".

After creating an Account you have to log on with this account to the Playstation Network (This function also can be found in the XMB "Account" Menu.

When you log on for the first time you can easy mark the "Automatic Log-In to PSN" checkbox so that the PS3 already log on to the Network. I prefer this because it is much easier than always log in manual - This Setting is optional (Just as you want it to be set).

After doing the Steps above you should be able to play online without any problem.

I hope this Steps are the solution to your problem and I wish you a lot of fun at the PSN.
