Same symptoms with no display and blinking green light. My monitor had been having a distorted image occasionally and a subtle whack on the side would clear it up for a week or so. I replaced both of the 1000uF 16v caps and both 250uF 25v caps on the power supply. All 4 were bulging before. Powered up and all looks good. Thanks!!

Just as an FYI I have had the same problem with two of these units. Both purchased at the same time. First one went and would not come out of standby for a long period of time, then would not display on boot up. About 3 months after the first one started having the problem the second one was doing the same. Upon taking apart the second one I noticed two capacitors (250 micro farad, 25 volts) on the power supply at the connector going to the main board had a bulge. I decided to take the first monitor apart as well and the same two capacitors had problems. I replaced these with new capacitors and both monitors are now working like new. So in this case it was a power supply issue not allowing the monitors to wake up. This makes some sense since the problem started slowly at first then got worse and worse over time until there was no display no matter how long I waited. Since both were out of warranty I had nothing to lose. Hope this helps.

After having replaced two swollen 1000uF 16v capacitors my monitor came back to life and now works as good as new.
Thanks for the solution!

My monitor dont come on, and green light flashng, viewsonic vp930b.

If your ViewSonic LCD monitor has stopped working with a blinking green power button, It typically means that there is one or more failed capacitors in the monitor. It would be best to send the monitor in to Viewsonic for service or to purchase a new monitor.

No true black appears to be available

Try this:

Turn the monitor on. Make a background picture of a black and white checkerboard pattern.

Press and hold the 1, up and down buttons. A small icon will eventually show on the display and the monitor will do a white ballance.

It can be hard to get the monitor to do this sometimes. Just keep trying until it works.

Note, you should open the monitor and look at the caps in the power circuit. They may need to be replaced. Better now than later.

ViewSonic LCD (VA1912w) Went Blank

ViewSonic LCD (VA1912w) Went Blank

I am using this great LCD for about an year. But few times in the past my LCD didnt show up the display though the Green light was still ON, turning off the LCD and opening it again always solved the problem. But now My LCD completely went blank. Turning off/on didnt work at all now. I've tried couple of other tweaks mentioned on this site but they didnt work. I am just seeing a blank screen with green light ON. and ya theres a very low hissing sound coming from the LCD.

ViewSonc VX924 LCD Monitor

Check the information at Viewsonic's website regarding their warranty:

http://www.viewsonic.com/support/warranties/limited-warranty/

If you have your proof-of-purchase and it shows the monitor is less than a year old, it would be covered. You would need to follow the procedure on their website to have the unit repaired or replaced, but it would not be your job to try to fix it.

30 bad VP930B's may have green LED for an instant that's it. No display either.

Yes this is a very common problem on the VP930b. The fault is with the crappy CapXon capacitors (worst in the industry). As mentioned above, replace the 220uF@25V and 1000uF@16V capacitors. The other two never go bad. Make sure you replace the four above even if they look good. I would recommend using 35V and 25V respectively.

Note, if your monitor serial number starts with Q8H you may have a bad IC on the main board. Q8 often goes bad a few months after the capacitors do. If they are warranty they will have to be sent to Viewsonic or a local authorized service center.
If not warranty, you can solder a wire from the 3 pins on the left side of the IC to the four pins on the right side. One pin on the left side is the on/off pin for this IC and should be left alone. This will bypass the IC allowing +5V to the LCD all the time. However, if the monitor ever shows scrambled graphics after turning it on then turn it off using the main power switch in the back and turn it back on, it should be fine.

MY VP930b has the same problem.
It takes a very long time (5-10 minutes) before it becomes normal.
