Dragon naturally speaking 11 is slower and less accurate than it was. Sound playback of dictated text is slow and distorted. Have redone mic checks and training but problem remains. Am thinking I should reinstall but hope for a simpler solution. Do you have one? Thanks, rob

Hi there,

It could very well be your microphone. The program needs to understand what you're saying and your microphone is crucial to that. If there's a lot of background noise or if the quality of your microphone is poor, you can check this by recording your voice and playing it back.

Lookup serial number

The key might be on the manual or the box if its not on the cd.
Dragon Naturally Speaking is a software program designed by Nuance Communications that enables a user to speak instead of type to both transcribe information and control his computer. This is beneficial if you don't like typing or physically cannot do it.
The software requires a headset microphone to work and some configuration to get started. To continue using Dragon Naturally Speaking, you must register it or it disables itself.
Activation is done online and requires a product serial number.
The location of the serial number varies depending on the software version, but it should be located on the box, CD case or manual.

Start Dragon Naturally Speaking.
When it completes the loading process, click "Activate Now" when prompted and then click "Activate Automatically."
Enter the serial number in the space provided and click "Generate Activation Key."
Copy the activation key into the activation text box and click "OK" to activate Dragon Naturally Speaking.

MY DRAGON NATURALLY SPEAKING 10-PROFESSIONAL DOES NOT WORK IN AOL EMAIL. IT WORKS WITH EVERY OTHER PROGRAM. BUT, WHEN I TRY TO DICTATE IN AOL EMAIL, NOTHING HAPPENS. ANYONE KNOW OF A SOLUTION?

Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 has not been tested to work with web based e-mail. It's also the same thing with Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 regardless of any version. As a work around and fix for this, if you want to use it through on any web based e-mail is to use the Dictation box.
Here are the simple steps to access the Dictation box:
1.Make sure you have successfully loaded a working user profile. 2.On the dragon bar, go to tools and then go to "Dictation Box" 3.Here, you can start dictating e-mail messages and use the "Transfer" button to transfer text in AOL E-mail.
I hope this solves your current problem.

There are several "flavours" of DNS 10, and only the Preferred and Professional versions will allow you to submit a pre-recorded sound for recognition (from the Sound menu). If you have a lower version such as the Standard, you will need to upgrade to at least Preferred.

I need a softwar that can take notes through my headphone mic word/text

Alright, well you have many options to choose from.

If cost is an issue, you can try this free application:
http://www.e-speaking.com/free_voice_dictation_software.htm

However, if performance and quality are crucial, I would suggest going with some more esstemed products.

Products such as Nuance's Dragon Naturally Speaking:
http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/

Or a product from a company called VoiceBox:http://www.voicebox.com/

Also, try Downloads.com and see what you can find, if your not fully satisfied with the free link.

Let us know.

Olympus DS-150

Judging from Olympus' website the device does appear to be MAC compliant as there are software downloads for the MAC system available for download. As far as voice to text goes, Olympus does not offer that option. Voice to text is done through a company called Nuance with a product called Dragon Naturally Speaking
