How can I download the videos I took on my Olympus SP-800UZ digital camera to my computer ??? The transfer cable will only download the photos to my computer but not the videos...Please Help !

On your computer there is a Recycle bim icon. If you did not empty this Recycle Bin the when you open this Recycle Bin you can left click on the folder you had deleted then click on File then click Restore.
This folder will then be returned to its previous location with your photos.

The Olympus SP-800uz digital camera does not come with a CD.
All PC software is delivered on the cameras internal memory (setup.exe).

When you need software, you can also use the better and free
Olympus Viewer 2 program for PC and Mac.

1. You might be able to download foto's from the camera, when you do it manually from within the installed Olympus program. Windows XP has problems with auto downloading foto's from ib.
2. Otherwise, check if the computer is recognizing the camera (see LCD) and with the Explorer if a removeable memory device is available from the camera.
3. Try putting the camera into another USB port, or try the camera on another computer.

The Olympus SP-800uz camera does not come with a CDROM.

The software for Windows is available on the internal memory of the camera, if you did not format / delete it! If you are using Windows, the software should popup a message to install it, when there is no SD-card installed in the camera (only internal memory), if you connect the camera to the computer.

As an alternative, you can download another free and much better Olympus software program, the Olympus Viewer 2. See here (you need to put in your cameras serial number to download it):

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Are you talking about the camera's LED screen, or your computer monitor screen?
Anyway, the Olympus SP-800uz camera has 4:3 image sizes and widescreen 16:9.
Just set your camera to the size you need to get your images shown fullscreen.
An alternative is to use a graphic (or tool) program that is able to crop your images.

1. Did you try another USB port? It is possible that the USB port you are using is at fault. 2. To check if the camera and/or camera USB cable is correct, try to connect the SP-800 camera on another computer. Do not use a SD / SDHC memorycard in the camera at first, the software is loaded on the internal memory.

If you have installed the [ib] software from the camera, this program seems to be very unstable and buggy. I would recommend to use the new Olympus Viewer 2 software instead. De-install the [ib] software and download and install the (free) Olympus Viewer 2 software. It supports the SP-800uz.

The Olympus [ib] software is on the cameras internal memory, if you did not format (delete) it. Look there for the setup.exe and run it. Although the best alternative free Olympus software is Olympus viewer 2 which replaces also Olympus Master 2:
