I tried to download the latest version of itunes but for someone it wouldnt download and now my old itunes doesnt work either. When I click on itunes to open it up, a message box pops up reading "apple application support was not found. Apple application support is required to run itunes. Please uninstall itunes then install itunes again. Error 2 (windows error 2)." what do I do?

If you mean you want to delete the information from the device a restore is best.
Connect the iPod to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed. The click the iPod's name in the top right of iTunes. Then go ahead and click Restore then confirm. The latest version of iOS for the device will download and install, the device will be like brand new once the restore has completed.

It all depends on your computer type and it's version. For instance, if you have a PC with Windows Vista of Windows 7, then the latest version of the iTunes (iTunes 10.4 for Window's (64 bit)) download should work. However, the "64-bit" part is also important. To check what your PC is, go to the start menu, then right click on Computer, select Properties, and it should tell you under System. I think updating iTunes may work. Click here to download/ install the latest version of iTunes from Apple Official Support.

I found a few people online with a similar problem. Here is the best answer I found from someone else:

"The latest Skype update made my Vtech USB7100 phone unable to recognize Skype. Vtech has no updates for the phone software, so I had to uninstall Skype 5.xxx and look for an older 4.xxx version. When I downloaded and installed, my phone was back in an instant. Hope this helps someone!"

Try downloading the latest version of itunes.
If that doesnt work try restoring

try connecting the ipod to a diffrent usb port ... if that doesnt work uninstall the itune and download the latest version and than try it ... if it still doesnt work try with a different cord if still no go ... u have a hardware issue

Uninstall the Itunes that istalled in the pc with the help of Revo uninstaller and then download an old version itunes ( itunes 8.0) install it and once u try to open it will give an option to upgrade it to the latest version then accordingly click on upgrade and the latest version of itunes will be installed successfully.

try to uninstall the the latest version of itunes on your pc and then go back to what the version you are using. After that, update your old itunes, not install your latest version.
