Software prerequisite I have Windows XP running on a P3. with half a gig of mem. Not the fastest machine in the world but reliable. I want to load MS Office Small Business Upgrade 2007 that you have featured in your brochure for $149.99 part number 8182619. The question is: Do I need to have ANY other applications loaded prior to loading the Office upgrade? You can reach me at: [email protected] or [email protected] or 828-733-1941 Thanks, Gabe V.

Office Small Business Upgrade 2007 will work on your PC but it can be a bit slow when starting office applications.
I suggest also upgrading the RAM to at leas one GIG the memory is not expensive and the computer general performance will improve considerably.
Office Small Business Upgrade requires a previous version of office installed. It is designed for those computers with Windows server 2003 or later and Windows XP SP2 and later, it will run fine if you install SP2.
You need to have a valid licensed copy of Office already installed. It will not work with Office 98. The package can be installed from Office 2000 onward.
Here is the full compatibility list from Microsoft website:
"The software will install only if you are a licensed user of one of the following products: • Microsoft® Works 6.0 or later • Microsoft Works Suite 2000-2006 or later • Any 2000-2007 Office program or suite • Any Office XP Suite, except Student and Teacher Edition"

I don't believe so. You might need an older version of office installed on your pc though.

Machine check exception occurs at start up bsod 0x0000009c numbers in parentheses varies... on occasion it has an irql not less or equal error The machine is runnig xp pro amd dual core 4200+, 1 gig...

A driver is corrupted and loads abnormally - this can be either one of a device or from a program that deals directly with the kernel : an antivirus, a backup.
The best, fastest and easiest way to deal with this is to reinstall windows then load one driver and program at a time until the bsod comes back - upgrade or replace the faulty one

We have p3 32 bit primvera s/w but laptop is 64 bit so how can i install it in my 64bit laptop. pls. solve

Hi shuklapawan,
I looked for the specs on the software but could not find the system requirements. You might want to call Oracle and ask if the software is compatible with your Operating Sysytem (Vista, Windows 7). The phone number is 1-800-423-0245 While I was unable to find the official system requirements for Primavera's P3, from the few article I read on it, I don't believe that it is Vista or Windows 7 compatible. Also it is not really a 32 bit 64 bit issue, 64 bit systems run 32 bit software all the time, in fact there are many more 32 bit programs running on 64 bit systems than 64 bit software, due largely to the fact that the software companies are are just now starting to program 64 bit software. This is an Operating System compatibility issue. If you absolutely have to run P3, you might consider installing XP as an additional OS on your HDD with duel booting and running P3 in XP. Hope this helps

I have an HP Pavilion a335w computer. It's running a P4 2.5GHz processor (Northwood A80532) 512 L2 with a 100MHz FSB. It has a TriGem Glendale motherboard, PGA478 socket, and it's maxed at 1MB RAM. How...

I have a Compaq that came with this board and a celeron 1.8 or 2.0 I believe. The fastest P4 that will run is a Intel Northwood 2.8 Ghtz 400 FSB nothing ELSE! Northwood 2.8 is the fastest 400 FSB, the boards chipset won't run anything faster than 400 FSB. Mine is running, Win 7 the Northwood P4 2.8 with 2 gigs ram, 160 gig HD and a 256 video card for over 5 years (minus win 7, had XP before with no issues. Good for light gaming, web surfing and MS office! Add a Zotac 512 MB PCI or Sparkle Video card and you can handle most more medium gaiming out today!

Wont boot 2 windows xp home when 2 gig memory installed, works with 1 gig, tried both slots with both 1 gig sticks.Screen goes black.

Seems the memory is not comatable with the motherboard. Replace the old memory and visit http://www.crucial.com, they have a scanner tool which will confirm what mem can be installed.

My dasktop doesn't completely load windows xp setup

hi, did you run the upgrade adviser, before running xp set up? this will tell you any upgrades or possible problems you may have. it is probably a hardware compatibility, as the aging p3 systems would have. if you can, go back with the older operating system, then run upgrade adviser, you may be able to correct he issue, i still have a pentium 2 450,that i put xp on years ago-it runs great for a p2-so it is not impossible to do.also did you do a quick or full format in the fat or ntfs, do full, and try the fat format for that p3. hope this helps you, good luck! need more help post again.

May be a bios problem

Sounds like it is a hard disk issue. Corrupted MBR. Or missing Boot Loader. Your partition must be Fat32 since Win98 won't recognize NTFS. Try running chkdsk if not successful than repartition and format. BIOS is OK since you stated it will install windows. Corrupted BIOS won't allow pc to load. From a win98 bootdisk choose not to load cd. From the dos prompt type FDISK /Status If more than 1 partition check active partition settings.

Cannot find hard drive while installing MS XP on a hp nc6220 laptop.

hi
It used to happen like this during the new installation.
goto BIOS setup and check that the HDD is correctely detected. check the size it reported. If its correct, give one more try. else the HDD firmware is corrupted and can be repaired.
thank you

Thank you for your help last time

256 mb of memory is not very much. It's the bare minimum you can get by with running Windows XP. Adding more would certainly be an improvement.
Only 1 gig of free space left on an 80 gig hard drive is not much room for Windows to work with. I would definitely try to get rid of or back up some files to make more room. You should also run a system clean up and do a defragmentation of the hard drive.

You should keep your anti virus software up to date if you have one installed. If not you can go HERE and run Trend Micro's Houscall on your PC. Viruses and Spyware will bog down a system and cause it to run extremely slow.

Ms 6315 with p3 833mhz freeze

Driver, bios & manual here, click the link.
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=searchresult&keywords=MS-6315&table=download

Your board:
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detail_spec/815EM_Pro.htm

Your chipset is Intel 815EM located at Intels site here.
http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/cs-009232.htm

Personally re-installing your chipset may not solve your problem.
Suggest you either run windows system restore back to a time your system did not freeze or re-install windows. Most PC's that lock up or freeze is caused by programs, some by hardware.
Load your Win CD into the cdrom & just re-install windows only.

Good Luck & Kind Regards.
& please vote.
