I lost my instructions to hook up my printer to my computer i have a canon mx310.. i need to know which phone cord goes into the computer and printer?????

Try to remember how you originally installed it: USB or direct...try to hook it up the same way...No? Well, go to control panel ( I prefer classic view) and un-install the printer...disconnect it from computer...unplug from outlet, wait a couple minutes and then plug back into outlet(this allows it to reset to its defaults)...re-connect to computer and install with software and follow instructions.

Line from the wall goes to the L slot, the telephone goes to the other telephone slot, although you do not need a telephone for the fax to work.

There should have came an instruction manual that answers these questions.
First connect the power cord to the printer ,they only go in one way.
You will also need a USB cable to connect to the computer ,new printers don't come with them so you will have to buy one.
Power on the printer and install the print cartridges ,before connecting the USB cable to the computer you have to run the setup program from the installation CD first and only connect the cable when it askes you to.

You don't need the CD, just go to this site: Driver Update and use their software to update your driver.
