I had to reset my router and need to secure it, can you tell me how to do that?

Your security key by default is usually a number on the wireless router. Your router manual should tell you what the default is or where to find it. If you set it and forgot it, try to reset the router to default.

Go to your IP Adress (printed below your router, usually 192.168.0.1) enter the user credentials (commonly admin/password) and go to router security. If this is to complicated or you don't remember credentials, reset the router or tell the neighbors that you will sue them

The wireless key is not the userid, WEP is the network authentication(security), the key is the passphrase you entered associated in the security settings of the router.

Please tell what is your Wi-Fi LED status. what channel count you configured inside the configuration of router. Please be sure that your wi-fi signal is transmitting or the device is able to receive the wi-fi signal.And please tell what router you using as host and what device you using as receiver. Your security key is usually in brackets on the bottom of the router. If a key was not provided with the router, you might want to call your internet service provider and ask them what it is. Also, the security key (password) for the router could have been changed at one time from the number that is on the bottom of the router.

Every router have a possibility to be reseted, Search on your router the place to reset and make a new configuration.
When u finish remenber to save a good password.
If you don't find a reset telle the name and model of you router.
