This sounds ilke its in a delicate cycle or fabric care cycle...did you try putting this in normal or regular wash are the speed selectors set to fast/fast...let me know if this does not help...

it is on fast/fast...perm press cycle...took 4 hours to do a load on perm press.currently on normal was cycle. still starting and stopping. any other ideas? thanks much

yes, check for wiring issues at the terminal block of the motor..also, if you have not tried another cycle..give that a try and change your the setting on speed selector switch to a lower speed..i have seen these go bad causing the motor get two speeds at once..this causes it to short cycle like yours sounds...get back to me with model number it will begin with 110.

Cycles will not stay going

It sounds as if there could be an overheating problem in the control electronics - perhaps just due to one faulty component that could be replaced, perhaps the whole board is faulty. If you have a user manual (sorry i had no luck finding one online), then just check if there is a "reset" - usually would be either unplugging the machine and leaving it for a few minutes, or pressing and holding a combination of buttons. (ask again if you don't have a manual, I can look more but Maytag manuals are hard to find) Are you keen to try and investigate this further yourself? If so please ask again and we can try and talk you through opening it up and what to check. You will most likely need a selection of screwdrivers, a flashlight, a digital camera and a few hours. If you would rather get a service agent in to have a look, please post back with your general area and we can hopefully locate one for you. There could also possibly be a motor fault, although I would expect an error message/light/beep to show if so, but perhaps not. It sounds repairable. Hope this helps :)

Our Kenmore 110-21252110 Washing machine is not agitating, what could be wrong?

Wil,
IT could be the agitator dogs that are chewed up and not gripping like they should. I am including a link to the Sears parts direct website so that you can see what they are. Second link is to a video on how to change them.

GE profile top loader, agitator and spin start and stop

Is this a newer model washer? I have one of the newer models and it does the same thing. It is supposed to do that.

Kenmore 500 series topload washer will not spin or agitate. It jus fills with water and hums.

if you hear the motor come on after it is filled the rubber cupler from the motor to the transmission is broken ( easy replacement ) sears sell the cupler for about 10.00 dollars

Maytag toploader washer fills up with water correctly, then waits several minutes to agitate, then stops for a few minutes then starts, also it only works in the delicate cycle.

Hi,

Maybe the water doesn';t fill fast enough/drain fast enough so check all the filters.

maybe the heater is damaged or something is getting stuck somewhere now and then so to say, so it might just need some oil.

maybe a part of the chipset is failing.

maybe a valve in the water circuit fails.

i'd say you try to contact a technician and have him check it out.

I hope this is useful, and greets,

Olivier.

Kitchenaid KAWS750JQ3 Top Load Washer

hi there,

make sure that the program is not on the "Intermittent Agitate Program". that would be the cause of the delay.

the other issue would be the timer itself. the timer is mechanical, so once the contact on it is corroded, it will only function intermitently or not at all.

please let me know if i can be of more help.

thanks
