One of the arms that holds the top tray for my SDW-5162 has broken. Anyone know of someplace I can find a replacement?

Are you talking about the 2 rails that slides in and out and connects to the rack?

Middle arm loose

Hello Mike Hilgers - There are two main reasons why the middle spray arm could possibly be loose. Either it is not installed properly or the bracket that mounts it to the bottom of the rack is broken or loose. Carefully remove rack, spray arm and reposition correctly with all rack wheels inside rack slides. If you have already done so, replacement parts may need to be ordered or it could possibly be a more serious issue coming from the interior dishwasher.

Top rack of dishwasher not getting clean

The most common problem with the top rack not getting clean, is either the middle spray arm is broken and not turning (if equipped) or on some model the pop up spray arm is either clogged with debris and not turning or the pop up part is broken. Make sure to check the spray arm under the top rack, if your has one, to make sure the feed tube is attached all the way from the side to the spray arm part. If part is missing or broken, as this is often the case, you will need to determine which parts are either missing or broken, and replace those parts. If the pop up part is missing or broken, this piece comes usually with the bottom spray arm in an assembly. Your owners manual should be able to direct you further.

Good luck.

Whirlpool quiet partner II top rack sprayer doesnt work

The top rack spray arm doesn't work because of low water pressure from the wash motor or it's clogged with debris.
If the top spray arm looks clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm and lower feed tube to access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter (accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken (broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary (part # 8268383). If the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly (part # 8535150). Remove any debris from the sump area in the process.
You don't have to shut the power off to the dishwasher because the door will be open, but if you feel more comfortable, do so.
Good luck!

My dishwasher is not washing dishes on the top rack...

HI,

The top rack is not cleaning because of low water pressure from the wash motor to the upper spray arm.

Replace the chopper if necessary . If the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly . Remove any debris from the sump area in the process.
