If it is a foam filter I would wash it with dish soap and hot water. Rinse thourghly and let dry completly before reinstalling. I blow mine with low pressure compressed air to speed drying time. I have been cleaning the filters on my siihl029 and craftsman lawn mower engines this way for years and have had no problems. Thank you.
TURPENTINE CLEANS IT BETTER IF YOU DO SOAP AND WATER MAKE SHUR ITS DRY AND THEN RE OIL FILTER
