Try using another card. If photos download properly from it the problem is with the original card. In that case try cleaning the metal contacts lon the card they may have some dirt or corrosion? Hope this helps.

DOWNLOADING PHOTOS

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

When I turn the camera on I get the message "memory card error". The only button on the camera which then works is the menu button but it just brings up the screen and then the same error message. Yes, I...

You need to format the card in the camera. Go into the menu and scroll to "format" and follow the on-screen instructions. This will erase and initialize the card . To download pictures, the most trouble-free way is to use a card reader and download to a folder you create on your desktop.

Casio Exilim ex-z40 won't down load

Try reinstalling your camera drivers. You need to uninstall it first while docking station is removed. Then reinstall your camera software through the cd that comes with it then try plugging it in again either on the same usb slot or a different usb slot. Then try docking the camera again if theirs any interruptions. Usually if you transfer the docking stations usb cord plug to a different usb slot, the transfer goes haywire. Transferring pictures

Hi,

A couple of things you can try:
1. Insert the Camera's USB cord to another USB port of your PC;
2. While disconnected from the PC, verify that the pictures are still inside the camera's memory;
3. Reset the camera (power on/off);
4. Check the camera's batteries;
5. Reboot your PC with the camera attached via the USB;
6. Remove the memory card from the camera and try uploading using a card reader;
7. Uninstall all instances of your USB in your PC's Device Manager, reboot and allow the PC to auto-detect  and auto-install necessary drivers; and
8. Verify that the software/drivers for your camera are installed correctly with no yellow or red markings.

Hope this be of some help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
