may be due buffer underrun... or may be u have inserted more data than the capacity of the cd... try burning less data once... if it doesnt works contact the repair person and get clean ur drive s lens

It is likely that the laser diode for CD reading and writing has burned out. DVDs use a different laser diode. If this functionality is important to you, replacement is the only option.

You know how you can burn a cd on your computer well my competer just leaves the cd blank what do i do?
I assume you have a CD/DVD writer or a combo. Check if it is recognized and its full name displayed in My Computer.

Next try using a new blank CD and burn using a program like Nero.

You need only the trial version to test your writer. Alternatively, search on Google for free CD burning software. Let me know how it goes.
