Question about DCS WO-130 Stainless Steel Electric Single Oven
Oven works fine just can't see the temp display- very faint
Had the same display issue with my DCS WOS-230. The display was fading and made it very hard to read clock and temp setting. Called DCS/Fisher Paykal and was told I need the Control system kit for $335.00 to fix the issue. After reading the input on this issue on this site I pushed them to sell me just the DCS EOC 211696 double display module 100-01095-00. Install took 10 minutes and everything works great. Thanks all for laying the groundwork as DCS will really push hard to sell you the more expensive kit that you do not need.

Call Fisher Paykal(888/281-5698) and not the DCS national parts Center. The national part center is extremely rude and will not offer the part only the kit that costs 3x more.

This is a recurring problem. I'm on my 3rd display module. So concluding a bad design and/or bad components. The displays last about 5 years. FP offers to repair/refurb for $115 if you send them the part. There is a form that they email you and you prepay. 5 years ago, the part (211708) for a WO-130 was $85. Sears Parts Direct has the refurbed part for $135. It appears that a capacitor is replaced by a larger capacitor in series with a resistor.

Mine DCS WO-230 had the same problem.
Replacing the display unit solved the problem.
You need to call DCS or your local DCS distributor's parts dept and get a new display unit. It's fairly simple to install if you're mechanically inclined.

Our oven is doing the exact same thing! We have a DCS WOS-230 (double oven) that we bought new in 2004. I can barely see the clock, and cannot see the temp display at all any more. Where can reasonably priced parts be purchased if I want to fix this myself? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ditto- Same problem. I have a DCS WO-130 single wall oven- purchased in 2003. For the past 2-3 weeks the LCD display has been getting very weak- sometimes it's not visible at all. The oven and all controls still function properly.
