Unless the remote is newer than your player, it isn't likely to have the required codes built in. There is no such thing as a truly universal remote; there are many multiple device remotes but none of them will ever be complete unless they have provisions for adding code sets from newer devices via download. BTW, even the 'learning' remotes will not learn from every original.
Next time your post such a request, be advised that you must include the make & model numbers from everything. This is not a 'generic' question.

First, there is no such thing as a 'universal' remote, even the 'learning' remotes will not learn from every original remote. Second, for anyone to help you, you need to post both model numbers, the player's and the remotes.
Generally, if a remote is only even a little older than the player, it may not contain the code set for the player.

You most likely will not be able to find a code for it because it is an off brand (not-so-well known brand) and most universals will not have codes for that brand. if your universal remote doesnt have codes for the Mintek brand or has them and they dont work then, sorry that remote will not work for you. you will need to try and get a different one. or try and get the original remote. you can try finding the original remote at ReplacementRemotes.com by typing in the model of the Mintek DVD player. or you can try Ebay.

I guess, the easiest way to go is to get an universal remote control and try codes from the provided list until you run into a working one. Many universal remotes have a mode when you can try to click tens or hundreds time on a button (like UP button) until it accepts the code.

I just tried the solution suggested by jcallahan on my Motorola DRC800 remote for my Cyberhome CH-DVD 300. The code that worked was 1023.
