Fusing temperature warm-up error The fusing temperature does not reach the fusing standby temperature of 45oC (113oF) within 9 seconds [for the B003/B006 (35 cpm)]/14 seconds [for the B004/B007 (45 cpm)] after switching on the main power or closing the front cover, or 40 seconds after reaching 50oC the fusing roller does not reach warm-up temperature.

SC546 is universal in Ricoh, Lanier and Savin. It is indicating that the machine does not see the fuser.

In order to clear error SC542, you can perform the following:

Press and hold online + escape, then power on.
Use up and down arrow keys to select SP2
Press Enter
Use up and down arrow to locate SP5
Press Enter
Use up and down arrow keys to select 810
Press Enter
Confirm the selection
Power off and on.

Also, check all of the connectors on the fuser connector and receptacle, just to make sure that full contact is being made. read this TSB on updating the thermistors: TSB_106 SC555_SC545_SC542 Occurs.pdf (need to register to views).

Without a model, I can't give you a lot of information, but I am assuming it is a Ricoh machine (Possibly Lanier/Gestetner, same difference), as that's the format of their error codes. An SC542 error code is a Fuser Temperature Error, meaning that the fuser didn't warm up fast enough. It is extremely likely that you will have to replace the fuser unit before the error code will go away. Please give me a model number if you need more information and I will try to be a bit more precise with the information. Thanks.

You have a Fuser Temperature warm-up error, Hot roller warm-up error.
Verify the heater lamps, thermistor and thermofuse continuity.
Enter in the SP mode, turn OFF the main switch, unplug the machine, wait 10 seconds,
plug in and turn ON the copier.
If you need to reset the fuser, Enter SP 5-810 (SC code reset) and
select "1". Then simultaneously press the Original Type key and the OK (or
R/#) key. (There is no need to turn the main switch off and on.).

try this:

1. Press the clear mode key (yellow key)
2. Use the keypad to enter "107"
3. Old down clear/stop for at least 3 secunds. (red key)
4. Enter the service mode.

5. Exit all the way and turn off.

6. Turn ON

And thats it
