With your Extensa you should be fine with the video and sound cards, as long as yours meets the 2ghz + 1g RAM, you shouldn't have any problems with the game. If you are, try updating to the latest sound and video drivers. Also, if you're sitting on 1g of RAM now, you might consider bumping it up to 2g. This will help it run smoother and avoid crashing during a gaming session.

Check the system requirements for the game and make sure your system meets the requirements. Also make sure you have all the latest drivers installed on your system.

Not enough memory

You can't increase the video memory on a laptop...as games update/upgrade, the video requirements often increase as well. So, what used to work with less video ram won't now.

You could try decreasing the number of video colors your system displays - for example from 32 bit to 16 bit. You'll see what I'm talking about when you open the properties for your desktop and click on video settings.

My year and 1/2 extensa turns on but has no sound or screen.

I would agree it is the motherboard, Ive had similar problems before with past laptops. If you have it under warrent get a new motherboard, if not save parts off of it and then trash it.

You laptop may need a upgrade and may not have the recommended hardware, space e.t.c. look on the back of the game box and see if your laptop meets the requirements, if not then you will need to upgrade that part in order to get the game to work.

Did you check the system requirements? Often games designed to "work" on windows/windows95/windows98 .. don't work well if at all on windows2000/xp/vista.

Yes with this processor you can play alot of games already but not just those latest games right now that requires much higher processor, so before buying any game make sure you check first the system requirements for that game....
