The pc will not detect the wireless card. Already updated driver, BIOS, and tried a new card. I did update from Vista to 7 Professional.

Did the wireless card ever work? If it did work I would check to see if there's a physical switch on the laptop. Try switching it off then on. I would also try a different driver. Sometimes I've used an older or newer driver to get a wireless card to work. So if the driver that's installed is for Vista I would try obtaining one for Win 7. You could also try a wireless driver fro XP 64bit. I've found that some Manufacture's Web sites have several drivers listed for "network card" you could have a installed a "network card driver from HP's site but it might not be the correct version or manufacturer. From HP's site I don't see Win7 listed as an option. So you could have an incompatible driver installed. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&product=3376893

One other item to check. If you had Vista 32bit installed originally then went to Win 7 64bit you could try the Vista 64bit driver.

If all else fails you could purchase a USB wireless device to make your laptop wireless again. I picked up a Trendent

Belkin wireless g dektop card part no f5d7000ak is not working in windows 7 64bit

If you are using an older Belkin Networking product, you may not have support for Windows 7 with your current software.
Software updates will be posted as they become available. Please check back if your product is not currently supported.
Some updates may still be in the process of going through Microsoft's official certification program. Although they have been thoroughly tested, they may present a warning message when the driver is being installed. These drivers will install on 32 bit operating systems but not on 64 bit systems, which is the normal and expected behavior.
Even though your product may currently not be supported under Windows 7, it may very well work on it; in the majority of cases, software and drivers for Windows Vista will work on Windows 7 without a problem.

I have a belkin wireless G notebook card for my laptop. Yesterday I installed windows 7 and now I can not get my wireless card to work. Is there anything I can do or do I have to get a new one. Thank...

Make sure you have the proper drivers. Win 7 needs different drivers than Win XP and sometimes different even than Win Vista. Also make sure if you have Win 7 64 bit you are using the 64 bit drivers for your device.

I install Windows 7 on my computer and I get 8 bits of video that I have had xp and when that had 96Mb

Hi, what has happened is when you installed the Win 7, it hasn't recognized your Video card, what you need to do, is obtain a driver that is suitable for Win 7. You need to go to the manufacturers website of you Video card,or PC, and find the driver and download and install. If it is an ATI card go to the ATI website and download the latest driver for your video card, if NVIDIA then the same applies here, BOTH of those sites would have a suitable driver, IF the card is supported under Win 7.
Many Video cards are NOT suitable NOR supported, in this case you either have to use the "Generic" drivers Win 7 supplies, or change you Video card if possible.
I have a feeling that your PC will NOT be suitable for Win 7. However I include the link for your drivers. Please go to this website below and download your Video Drivers and see how you go.

Advent roma 1000 with windows 7.under device manager network controller is yellow,so cant get online wired or wireless.

Hi,

You need the correct drivers for your wireless card for it to work in win 7. If you tried to upgrade to win 7 look for the updated network/wireless card driver on your manufactures website.

Hope this helps.

After upgrade from Win Vista, the screen dont work on Win 7

One word DRIVERS. This is ya whole problem... simply Win 7 doesn't have the correct drivers for your PC. Unless ya have the correct drivers ya gonna always have problems. Find suitable drivers for everyone of your devices and store in a Directory, when you install, then, ya will have the correct drivers and hopefully Win 7 will install fine. Remember also Drivers can be installed in "Computability Mode" for XP SP2. Otherwise stick with Vista?

If you upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista or XP, you will need to install the wireless card driver from HP for Win-7.

At present, HP does not have Win-7 drivers for this machine.
