Don't know why so much water. May be able to adjust by turning down valve tap. Turn unit on and you should be able to hear water pressure decrease. Make sure damper in 6" pipe is open so humidified air will get through system. When very cold humidities are lower. Also must hum. mfgs. suggest connecting with hot water instead of cold (vaporizes faster) don't know which you have

Humidifier doesn't provide more than 28% humidity

Hi Joe,

If you've got water flowing, but the pad is dry - I suspect that the motor is failing to turn the drum/filter. You might want to somehow mark the drum and watch or check it at short intervals of time to see if it moves or not. If the motor fails to rotate the wet portion of the drum/filter into the airflow - it will be difficult for it to raise the humidity of the space.

I found replacement motors as "#10" on this page: http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/humidifiers/general/747.html These motor looks awfully chintzy to cost $55 - $70 (depending on whether it is a 24V or 115V type). They look very much like a standard clock motor. If that's the case, you can probably replace yours (if defective) for a small fraction of that price - if yours is the 115V style anyway.

I hope this was helpful & good luck!

Aprilaire 600 - water flow stopped to unit when running - chk'd lines and all ok - will run in manual mode on hudmidifer control (pt # 56) but with outside temp sensor connected seems to not register to...

Doesn't the float valve on the water sump control the level of water in the sump?

Do you have water to the valve? (Like loose the nut on the tubing-- does water come squirting out?)

If not, you can't get humidity into your system, without water in that sump or pan!
The mat can be turning-- but if it is not SOAKING WET!-- you get no humidity in the house!.

Could the main shut off valve be plugged?--

Bottom line is-- the Humidifier needs a steady supply of water-- It will go thru gallons of water every day, this time of the year!

Should water be continualing running through the drain tube?

Water will flow over the filter pad as long as the unit is calling for humidity. once the unit is satisfied the solenoid valve should stop the water flow. if the water continues to flow with out call then solenoid valve has failed open. hope this helps.suppling an owners manual in case you need one.

No Water Flow to Honeywell Enviracaire HE225A1006 Humidifier

I have same problem with no water flow on identical humidifier but was able to fix it. Removed the inlet to the solenoid valve and found (1) a small taper mesh filter inside (2) a small diameter orifice that was clogged. Cleaned the miniature filter and used a sewing needle to open the orifice and now works perfectly.

Water flow from humidifier never stops. Even when furnace is off.

No, it will not stop flowwing if it is the water supply. A solenoid valve opens the flow everytime there is a call for humidity, but it stops at the humidifier when there is no call, so it will leak from that point until it is fixed or tightened.

Water keeps running into humidifier even furnance blower is not

This sounds like, the 550 transformer is not connected to the blower motor power connection (in parallel)

No water flow to the humififier

I've been working on the Aprilaire 110 unit today, after encountering the same problem. Here's how I fixed it: First, with the humidistat turned to 0%, I turned off the water supply saddle valve all the way (all the way to the right)--and then turned it back on all the way (all the way left). Still no water flow. Second, I slightly loosened the inline valve nut on the discharge side of the solenoid on the side of the 110 unit. Water began flowing, so I tightened it back up; and now the water flows freely. Conclusion: You may have some mineral deposit buildup in your lines, as I apparently did.

Lack of humidity

Try the following test, ( I will resume this is a flow through humidifier)

Spray water directly oin the filter make sure it is saturated. Some water should leak from the bottom. After 10 min measure the Humidity to see if this helped. If there is a higher level of humidity the pbm is that not enough water is saturating the filter. Check the level of the filter & water feed nozzle.

Option 2 is to connect the water feed tube to a Hot water source.

Hope this helps.
