You need to use bar & chain oil. It's thicker and stickier that regular oil so it will stay on the bar and chain and not run out of the saw when you are done using it.

Remington chainsaw gas/oil ratio?

If this is an electric saw as the title says the only oil you put in it is bar oil. This is a thick oil to lubricate the chain and bar. If it is a gas powered saw you will need to mix the gas with 2 cycle oil.

I have a Remington 16"

most any bar and chain oil for chain saws will work. The cheaper the better just make sure you keep the chain oiled up. if you can touch the chain and oil oil does'nt get on you you not using enoght and put oil right on the chain. certainly when you put the saw away to store it. even wrapping the bar and chain in a rag with oil in it is a good idea as it'll be ready for next time.

I have an Remington 3.25 (Peak Hp) 16"/40, 6 cm electric chain saw, And I have just a few questions 1.) Does it take oil/gas or just oil and if so what kind. 2.) How would I tighten the chain, its...

It uses oil only to lubricate the chain. The type of oil in not critical although special chain saw oil is available. If you use anything but chain saw blade oil, make sure that it is a light oil, both in viscosity and in colour because it is a total loss system and dark or dirty oil can become very messy. The chain adjustment is on the body at the end of the blade, it actually moves the blade in or out to set the chain tension. The chain should be tensioned that when it is pulled at the bottom, the guides of the chain should not quite come out of the slot in the blade. If the chain is too tight it overheats the blade and stretches the chain.

My remington 16 inch electric chain saw is not oiling, how do i fix it?

Start by making sure it's unplugged. Then remove chain, and bar, and clean oil slot in the bar and all of the housing in the area the oil comes out onto the bar. I use carb cleaner (safer than gas) and then empty and clean the oil reserve. Refill with straight 30 weight. Never use car oil like a 10w30 or 5W40! Then prime (pump) and start the saw without chain or bar. You should see some oil squirt out. If not, soak a clean empty oil reserve overnight in carb cleaner and try again.Once the oil path is clean, you should be back in business. If not - see your authorized service center.....LOL

3.0 Peak HP 16'/41 cm remington

You might actually have the chain too tight. With the saw off you should be able to lift the chain until the gear tooth (tooth on inside of chain) almost lifts out of the chain bar.
I've never used an electric chain saw but if it has a chain oiler you should also check your chain oiler to make sure you're getting enough oil on the chain, if you run the saw with the chain aim at a clean surface you should see oil on the surface almost immediately.

16" Electric Chain Saw: what kind of oil is used for electric chain saw...

I assume you are asking about the oil for the chain. Any good quality "Bar and Chain Oil" will do fine. Do not use motor oil you use in your car engine as it will not properly lube the chain and will result in quicker dulling and early demise of the chain.

You can get the "Bar and Chain Oil" at most hardware stores or Farm Supply stores.

Lost manual need to know what kind/weight oil does the Remington 16" chain saw require?

Any good quality chain saw 'bar' oil is suitable and it does not need to be an expensve brand either: it is highly recommended that you use a specially blended chain saw 'bar' oil but in emergency you can you fresh 'thick' (e.g. older) car engine oil but don't make it a habit as your chain and bar will wear off a lot faster!

What kind of chain oil to use for a 10in remington electric

According to the manufacturer... "Use SAE 30 motor oil for best results. (For temperatures below 30° F, use SAE 10. For temperatures above 75° F, use SAE 40.) DO NOT use Bar & Chain oil." So, I suggest for any Remington electric chains saw not to use bar and chain oil. I hope this helps...

Oil

While Bar Chain oil will probably work, the owners manual (sitting in front of me) on page 9 says to "use SAE #30 motor oil". This is the owners manual for Models: M12510US, M15012US, M15014US, M15014AS, M30016US, M30016AS, M30016AW, M35016UW, M35016AW. Remington Electric Chain Saw
