if its only happening on disc games i would say the lens is going bad.

Try this use your vacuum to suck out any dust that is in machine from front and back. Use compressed air (duster used on electronics) and spray the cd area and back area again, vacuum out. If this doesn\'t help then Call Sony PlayStation for replacement of machine.

The lens of the playstation 3 is getting weak that is why it freezes whenever you are watching a blu ray disc movie on it.

You can replace the lens and the problem will stop.

Upgrade to the newest firmware, since 3.0 had some freezing issues with some games, if your internet connection is slow it would also cause it to freeze up

Do you mean it starts the game then freezes? Can you hit the PS button and does it still view the XMB? If so your laser must be replaced.
