When I print with my CLX-3160FN there is a lighter band in the center of the page. There is no error message showing, how do I fix that?

There is some-thing that is dirty that is making contact with the paper.

My guess is a roller or a little metal guide wheel or the like.

Clean it with tissue paper.

Use the already printed page to line up to see where about the source of the line is comming from.

Probably you have damaged thermofuse in fusing section. It can be easily replaced with new one and it's very cheep and ordinary

it is most likely that the fuser actuater arm is not sitting back to the sensor properly. open the back door you will be able to see the fuser, on your right hand side you should be able to see a fliper that sit in between a sensor. try to adjust the fliper flag and see if it works.

if it still continue to give you the same error. try remove the fuser four screw 2 side on each. adjust the flag again and fix it back. it should work and double check for any lose small pices of paper jam in the printer.

Kindly take out the imaging unit out of the printer and take out and put it properly.

If this did not fix you may try using the imaging unit from other printer.
If this did not solve then visit a service center or buy its Imaging unit.

This is a very common problem with Samsung CLX-3160 and CLP-300 printers. The real problem is that the developer blades get dirty with the toner. Buying a new imaging unit will only fix the problem for a short period of time then it starts to get buildup on the developer blades.

You need to clean the developer blades. If there are streaking on any color, then also needs to be cleaned.

It only takes a few minutes to do once you get the developers out of the unit. Just be careful when you clean the edge of the blades. You need to make sure that the residue is completely removed from the edge. Also be sure that when you reinstall the blade that the little foam does not get trapped below the blade. Otherwise when you print the side where the blade is not properly installed will have too much color.

If you are afraid of messing your printer up, then you need to buy a new imaging unit. They go around $100.

I have a brand new HP pavilion, but it wont print from my HP deskjet. If i am lucky i get the first p[age and a couple of lines on page 2. My new laptop (ACER) is quite happy to print using the same cable. printer etc. Conclusion...HP pav is defective. Am I wrong?

Look under the flatbed (do not take anything apart) just look where the paper comes out when you print...you will see a green switch on the left, push or pull it, this is the scanner lock...I am guessing it is for transportation purposes...I had the same problem and this was the fix...Good luck
