The screen went grey intermittenly one week ago. It is permanently grey now. I cannot access anything and I need information on the PC for work urgently. How can this be rectified?

I had this same problem, there is a thin line of wires connecting the bottom half and top half of the sliders, after awhile it just plain wears out and will generally crack, without these wire anything on the front of your phone will no longer work. The screen is black but stil lights up a little bit and occasionally the buttons light up but its pretty much toast I'm sorry to say. I upgraded to a HTC Touch Pro 2 and am happier than ever!
Hi, Because the machine is new and in warranty i recommend that you contact Gateway to arrange to send it to them for repair. They will take you through a few troubleshooting pointers first before booking it in. I would not try fixing the problem without help from a Gateway technician as because its new its up to them to deal with and laptops are designed to last at least a year before problems arise but in your case it's three weeks. There is obviously something wrong for it to go down within such a short length of time.

this may be problem with any one stuck key in keypad
pls notic that through notepad
when noise comes just open notepad d &cheak it any alpha or numric key is stuck or not
also check with on screen keyboard witch is inbuilt in xp
start---->all programs---->Accessories----->Accessibility
if any key is stuck the keyboard display hilightly this key

ok u need 2 take ur battery out and wait for 15 seconds before reinstalling ur battery.. if that dosent work then u need 2 take it back and recieve a new phone
Plug and external monitor to it if that goes unfortunely the LCD in that lappy is stuffed...if not then something else has gone amiss come back here to tell us a bit more info.
