Coolpix Nikon L110 flash not working. I have had a Coolpix Nikon L110 for a few months now. I was taking pictures when the flash stopped working. It is raised but doesn't work. I already reset all of the options but it still work work. Is there something I missed?

That's called depth of field and what you're looking for is a shallow depth of field.
This is achieved by using a wide aperture (an F stop of 5.6 or lower).
I'm not too familiar with the L110 but you may achieve this with the Scene Mode "close up" which is available on your camera.
The difference between a professional and an amateur is not the camera. A pro gets paid for his pictures, an amateur does not. Go to your local library and browse through some introductory photography books. They will explain how to do things like shoot with a narrow depth of field (blurred backgrounds).
It takes the same amount of time after the picture is taken for it to appear on the screen. Without flash there's less light and the camera requires more time to collect enough light and take the picture.
