When printing, there is a band, right in the center of the print, that is very faded. Do I need to replace the imaging unit?

I have changed the toner but it is still not printing properly

Not sure what you are referring to in terms of print quality. One problem that occurs a lot is that the printer often has faded print. It will occur as faded vertical bands on the paper like this:

Printing is faint on edges of documents. I have a CLP-300 printer, when I print the edges of the sheet are very faded, but the center seems to be fine. Any ideas what would cause this?

I have a Samsung CLX-3160FN multi-function color laser printer. It recently started to print poorly in black (that's what I mostly print). Geniune Samsung toner carts are installed. The black is at 76%. I...

If the black toner prints like the image below with alternating bands of light and dark printing, the problem lies with your imaging unit.13911cf.jpg Specifically the developer blades in the imaging unit has toner build up on the blades. The more you use a particular color, the more it builds up to the point that it exhibits itself as faded images on the paper.

It can be fixed by replacing the imaging unit for $100+, but it will reappear again after sometime. Or you can fix the problem yourself and save yourself $100. You will need to open the imaging unit and clean the blades. I have a description on how to do this in my tips section. Or your can click on this link, http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300. Hopes this helps you.

THE QUALITY OF PRINT FROM MY SAMSUNG CLP300 HAS BECOME POOR, WITH SOME BLACK INK FADED

If the print is faded down the length of the page, then the problem lies within the imaging unit. This is a very commn problem with this printer. The developer blades get blocked by a coating of toner, which after many prints, cause a noticable fade in the image. This can be fixed by replacing the imaging unit or the blades can be cleaned. I have detail instruction in my tips section. It can be done quite easily if you are handy, and you could save yourself some money by not buying a new imaging unit.
